A Look Back
As we embrace a few changes in our life, we thought we would share a few highlights from recent travels to begin our new blogging effort. Hopefully, you won’t be too bored as we sort out how things work and how we want them to look.
Your suggestions would be most welcome!
Since we are avid birders, there is a more than probable chance this “new” blogging thing will still include more than its fair share of bird images. (Today’s post will be short on birds as we wanted to highlight locations.) Our hope is to merge more information and photographs about habitat, environment, creatures other than birds and what we’ll call “local flavor” – history, cuisine, life.
Thank you for staying with us or, if you’re new here, welcome aboard!

We hope you are all well and safe. Soon, we will all be back in the great outdoors enjoying what nature has to offer.
Enjoy your search for a natural place and come back for a visit!
Catching up with you on the new platform. Best wishes and thanks for the photo tour of beautiful places. How did you ever get that Black-footed Ferret shot?

Thank you for finding us, Ken! I apparently didn’t make it too easy.
Hah! For that ferret, it took all my skill as a long-time hunter to summon an inordinate amount of patience and —- okay, okay. I literally stepped out of the car and it had a burrow on the shoulder of the park road. Knelt down, two shots, poof – he disappeared.
Reaffirmed my photographic motto – better lucky than good! 🙂

First thing Wally . I need to tell you that when I link from your comment name to find you it takes me to Blogger and then nowhere. Luckily I have you in my sidebar and also filed in Contacts as “Rebel Alliance”.
I’m sure I left a comment but it’s not here.
Somehow I managed to clip you on the sidebar even though Our Florida Journal has disappeared completely. It’s just as though you and Gini never existed.
It’s good to hear that at least one or two of your politicians are showing good sense. We may get respite next week but for now Boris is sending out misinformation to the BBC until he decides the real deal.
We are looking forward to our mutual trade talks beginning next week although it’s unlikely to be mentioned on other than alternative news channels. I’m looking out for a deal on real Californian wine so that we can send the overrated French plonk back over the channel for their wine lake Cheers.

Sorry for the confusion, Phil. I am fairly computer-illiterate.
I found a comment you made on the previous post: “Changes”. Didn’t see a prior one for this current post.
Very likely, I messed around and left out links and URL’s and other important thingies, but have tried to repair things. When I visit your blog now and click on my name in the “Comments” section, it now takes me to my “Blogger” profile with a link to the new website. Whew!
Please let me know if you are still having issues and I’ll get our ace technician right on it!
Best of luck to those of us on both sides of the pond with regard to politicians in charge of our lives.

Bit confused Wally. Is this your new blog or will you occasionally use your other ‘Our Florida Journal’ or is that one now redundant?
Do I now need to follow this one and not the other?

Brian, this will now be our only blog and we will be deleting “Our Florida Journal”.
Thank you for asking!

Your selection of pictures, as always, is stunning, Wally, When I see what you produce I have a sudden urge to throw away my camera! I am very much looking forward to exploring your new blog as you feel your way around it, and even though I am, if nothing else bonkers about birds, I will anticipate a more holistic view of life. Your ability to have fine words flow in seamless perfection is something to look forward to again. Stay well and stay healthy during this period, and try to restrain your politicians from committing stupid acts – or is that an oxymoron?

Keep that up, David, and my already sizable ego won’t fit into the room.
Your kind remarks are appreciated.
Soon, we shall all be running amok in forest and field once again. Well, in my case, walking amok – slowly.
As for politicians, I’ll leave you with a quote:
“Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.”

Enjoy your day!

Fabulous photography, Wally, of places that, unfortunately, I’m never likely to see – but you’ve kindled a desire to do so!
What I am missing is your uplifting words which always accompanied your old blog posts.
Stay safe and keep well – – – Richard

We hope this new day has dawned with you and Lindsay both feeling great, Richard!
Thank you for the kind words. It’s like your recent Scilly adventure. We know it is not likely we will have a chance to visit, but through your eyes we felt as though we have been there.
No worries about me ever being at a loss for words! Just feeling my around the mechanics of a new platform and trying to get things settled.
It’s a beautiful, bright, cool morning here and the world awaits. Take good care!
